The LivCom Awards

The Livcom AwardsThe LivCom Awards were launched in 1997 and are endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme. LivCom is the world’s only Awards Competition focussing on Best Practice regarding the management of the local environment. The objective of LivCom is to improve the quality of life of individual citizens through the creation of ‘liveable communities’

Champions of the EarthChampions of the Earth

UNEP invites you to nominate individuals or groups for its new international environment award ‘Champions of the Earth’. This award will be presented each year to six outstanding environmental achievers and leaders of the world, who made a significant and recognized contribution, regionally or beyond, to the protection and sustainable management of the Earth’s environment and natural resources.

The NZRA is a progressive non-profit organisation and incorporated society committed to meeting the professional needs of people and organisations associated with all aspects of recreation, leisure, parks, open space management, aquatic, conservation and sport delivery. YardstickYardstick Parks Benchmarking Project

Yardstick Parks Benchmarking project is now available for international membership following the project's initial establishment in New Zealand and Australia. The Ifpra World Commission in Dublin in September 2007, concluded that Yardstick would provide a means for Parks organisations to benchmark across country boundaries. Currently 48 NZ Councils (70% of all NZ Councils with Parks assets) and 39 Australian Councils/Trusts are members of the project.

Yardstick Parks is the benchmarking project and Yardstick ParkCheck is the user intercept (qualitative) project.

The Ifpra World Commission is pleased to support and recommend Yardstick to all Park Managers.

Membership for 2008 is now open and will close in April 2008 for the benchmarking project and November 2007 for the ParkCheck project.


West Midlands Forum

West Midlands Parks Forum

The West Midlands Parks Forum, which is a working group of WMCLOA, has a membership of 36 Local Authorities within the region which is defined as Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

The forum seeks to exchange information between members on best practice within parks and green space management and maintenance and raise awareness about the contribution of parks and green space to quality of life. www.westmidlandsparksforum.co.uk
